Considering Training?

If your skills are out of date or need to be upgraded for you to find a sustainable job, you may be able to apply for funding to help you complete your skills upgrading. If approved, you will receive financial assistance through the Skills Development Employment Benefit (SDEB) so you can complete a vocational training program that will give you relevant skills to return to work.

To be eligible you must be receiving, or have recently received, Employment Insurance and submit an application through one of the Employment Resource Centres providing this service.
For those between the ages of 15 - 30 you may be eligible to obtain training through the Skills Link program. Designed to assist young people who are finding it difficult to get work, Skills Link provides basic employment training and support.

As with any of the programs and services listed on this website, a Case Manager referral is required.
To make an appointment with a Case Manager find an Employment Resource Centre near you.
